Bali Villas

Exclusive Bali villas with traditional architecture

Just like the majority of traditional Indonesian architecture, the Balinese style is taking the spatial orientation and hierarchy as serious considerations. There are also guidelines for architectural designs originally inscribed in ancient Javanese on a lontar (palm-leaf manuscript) which is called Asta Kosala Kosali. The guidelines include the main principles of the size, location, and alignment of building types. As the implementation, we often see that typical traditional Bali family villas are having several buildings in the same hedge that surrounded by stone walls. Particularly striking are the gates which are made higher and looking like a temple whereas the family temple itself is always to be found in the north-east. On top of that, the organic statements used for traditional exclusive Bali villas are coming from the natural materials like bamboo and palm leaf.

Exclusive Bali Villas with modern architecture

Adjusting the architect to the market demand, the modern style of Bali villas are developing so fast in the few decades. The modern Bali luxury villas are pretty much taking the architectural style from other countries. This is due to the fact that many architects who design and build exclusive Bali villas are either foreigners or locals who got the education abroad. Even though modern villas in Bali are still keeping some traditional authenticities in its design, but there are too many differentiators among the two styles. One of the most distinctive examples is that the modern style would make only one big building instead of dividing the land for several smaller buildings. Other special characteristics of a modern villa are the swimming pool and the absence of the temples.
